About me
As we pass through our journey in life the pressures of modern living can build within us, often we can feel isolated, overwhelmed and out of control with our feelings with current or unresolved issues affecting our overall happiness and wellbeing.
Contacting a Counsellor to share your deepest feelings, worries and concerns can understandably be daunting. However, it can also have a freeing sense of relief as you begin to piece together and process your issues with a genuine, impartial, and warm human being.
It’s through the development of the therapeutic Counsellor/Client relationship, that this unique form of listening and acceptance can facilitate the necessary trust, growth and positive change needed. I will walk alongside you to make sense of your distress and ease the struggle in finding your inner solutions.
You are not alone.
During your sessions there is also an option to have a non-shedding Therapy Dog who will sit calmly by your side as you begin to explore and understand your feelings. This wonderful gift of pet therapy builds on the pre-existing human – animal bond. Interacting with a friendly dog has shown to help many physical and mental issues which can reduce blood pressure, improve cardiovascular health, and increase endorphins that produce a calming effect. This can help alleviate pain, reduce stress and improve our overall psychological state.
My approach is based on the well regarded theoretical model of Person-Centred Counselling, which enables me to work within the needs of my client in a non-directional and non-advisory way. As a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapists (BACP) I work to a high standard, within an ethical framework, where I abide by their code of ethics and professional conduct.
I work with adults and vulnerable adults, including a range of children and teenagers in both Primary and Secondary School settings. My work extends to a variety of school visits with my Therapy Dog, and also within my Private Practice based in Witney, West Oxfordshire.
I welcome both Adults and Children, and currently have spaces Face to Face and Online.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
