About me

Sometimes, life feels harder than it should. We can feel lost, anxious or judged. We can feel overwhelmed without really understanding why. And when life is difficult it can be harder to talk about how we are feeling. The problems we face feel bigger. When we feel this way, we may not even feel entitled to feel the way we do.  It’s a cycle that can be hard to escape.

Counselling allows these feelings to unfold in a safe, supportive environment.

During our time together, we will uncover ways to help you live a happier, healthier, more nourishing and sustainable life. I seek to understand you, using a range of creative practices and collaborative approaches depending on the situation. I don’t assume or judge. Every person is unique, a sum of our life’s experiences and relationships. Every challenge deserves and needs to be understood in its own context.

We will work collaboratively, creating a space where you can be open and honest. We will take an integrated approach, exploring and discussing the different techniques we try, and responding to what works for you. At times you may welcome a psychoanalytical method. At others neuroscience techniques may be appropriate. Or you may just need to offload. Whatever the process calls for, you will feel part of the process and invested in finding ways to move forward with understanding, confidence and inspiration.

I am currently offering a block of 6 sessions for people suffering with anxiety, GAD, and panic attacks, at a reduced rate of £250 for a block. In these sessions we will work together to enable you to manage your anxiety, employing your skills and strategies for you to take with you moving forwards. Effectively giving you the tools for a calmer, enjoyable way of living.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
