About me
As queer, non-binary, autistic therapist I specialise in offering Email Therapy for queer and trans folks.
What is Email Counselling?
Email counselling is a type of counselling/therapy where you exchange secure confidential therapeutic emails with a qualified counsellor once a week using a highly secure platform.
Unlike in-person, video, or phone sessions, email counselling is all text-based, therefore we will not see each other’s faces or hear each other's voices.
This can be very liberating for many people. Maybe you’ve never had counselling before and are very anxious to meet me, yet you don’t feel ready to talk. Writing your feelings down might feel easier.
This is your opportunity to access therapy by writing instead of talking!
Imagine if you could express your emotions and get support for what's really going on rather than endless talking where you feel too embarrassed or awkward to say what you really need, to your counsellor.
Is Email Counselling new?
Email Counselling is in fact not new and has been around for decades. However, as it's a specialist way of working it requires additional training post initial qualification as a counsellor. Until recent years there has only been very basic training available which was tacked on to generic online counselling courses. For this reason, there are still very few counsellors who have undertaken in-depth specialist training in Email Counselling.
Is Email Counselling legit?
Absolutely, Email Counselling is proven as a very powerful way of accessing therapy. So much so that The National Counselling and Psychotherpy Society (NCPS) awarded quality check status on my professional training in Email Counselling which I teach specialist over at my sister org Email Counselling Academy.
What makes my approach different?
Have you tried therapy before? Perhaps you felt unable to talk about your gender identity or sexuality. Maybe you didn't want to risk being misgendered, misunderstood and having to educate your counsellor.
Let me help you.
I really understand that being LGBTQ+ can sometimes make it difficult to find a counsellor you can trust and feel safe to open up to.
As a Queer, Non-Binary person myself I have personal experience of how it can feel to be judged by professionals.
I'm passionate about helping LGBTQ+ people - like you - have affirmative counselling which is why I founded Sussex Rainbow Counselling in 2016.
I believe it's essential to not have to worry about coming out and educating your counsellor about your identity.
Why work with me?
You'll not only get access to my many years experience as an Email Therapist, you'll also get specialist support from an informed professional with over a decade working with gender and sexual diversity. I have significant experience working with trans and non-binary clients and most of my clients are also neurodivergent.
If you're queer and/or neurodivergent and looking for a new therapist where you have the freedom to write instead of speak you are in the right place.
How to get started
I have very limited spaces and usually have a waitlist. Once you've added your name I'll notify you when a spot comes up.

Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
My work is affirmative of gender, sexuality and relationship diversity (e.g. non-monogamy, poly, kink), as well as being sex-worker affirmative and fat positive.
Many people come to me to explore sex having previously found it difficult to bring up with other counsellors. It is often easier for people to write - rather than talk - about topics they find embarrassing such as sex which is another reason why people choose Email Counselling instead of traditional talking therapy.
In additional I have lots of experience (as a counsellor and in previous mental health roles) supporting clients who have suicidal thoughts and have completed training in ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training).
