About me

I've been actively practicing as a Therapist for the last 5 years as well as being involved in integrative Therapeutic study for the last 8. (Which has been known to fool people because of my baby face.)

I have always worked with a variety of people from all ages and backgrounds, the youngest being 8 years and the oldest being 84. Many of these clients have lived in different places all over the country. This experience has meant that I have needed to become a different type of Therapist for each client that I work with to ensure that I am able to best support them. This has also meant that I have worked with people for many different reasons and has given me skills to comfortably meet people where they are and work towards their goals in Therapy.

My approach is very much client focused as I wish to understand what is important to you and what you wish to achieve. With this understanding, I can then tailor my way of working with you to ensure it's a good fit for your goals.

I now primarily work online and deliver Therapy through either telephone or video call.  With this change in my delivery method, I feel I can work best with ages 14 and upwards as I have less of an ability to work creatively now that I no longer see clients face to face.

I too have had extensive Therapy through the years which has given me many tools to become the person that I am today. Some of that Therapy has been really useful. Some, not so much. From these personal experiences, I have learned the most important part (For me), was how much I could connect with my Therapist. (Did I like them, could I trust them?) Clinical research shows that if we get this part right, some great progress can be made. The beauty of this platform is that you have lots of choice and I will always be an advocate in helping those I work with in finding the correct support if that is not me.

If you feel it is, however, then I really look forward to speaking with you and finding how out how I may be of help.

I do also offer a "Get to know me" call at no cost to help ensure that we both feel that I am the right fit for you. You are welcome to message me directly to get one booked if you require something outside of my listed availability.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
