About me

For some people, the thought of counselling can be daunting! There are so many counsellors out there it’s often difficult to know where to start or who to choose! If you are looking at my profile now, well done - you have started to take those next steps to beginning your counselling journey!

So let me introduce myself. My name is Ceris and I’m a qualified counsellor with over 10 years of experience working with people who have experienced mental health difficulties.

Using a genuine friendly warm approach, I am able to offer counselling to people to enable them to develop a deeper awareness and understanding of themselves and their own situations. I do not offer advice but can offer new perspectives and challenges to situations which seem unmanageable to them at times of uncertainty.

Some of the difficulties I work with include anxiety, self-confidence, bereavement, Self-harm relationship difficulties, work related stress, domestic abuse, and sexual assault . I also work with many other difficulties so if you have something specific you want to work with but don’t see it here, then please don’t hesitate to contact me to discuss further.

If you would like to book an appointment or would like further information about the work, I do or how I may be able to support you, then please contact me.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
