About me
Psychotherapy is a powerful tool for individuals to better understand themselves, alleviate mental distress, and increase overall life satisfaction.
I understand that beginning therapy can be a sensitive and challenging decision, which is why I am committed to creating a safe, judgment-free, and supportive space where you can freely express your thoughts and emotions.
I have conducted hundreds of hours of psychotherapy and counselling sessions with a very diverse range of clients ranging from university freshmen to an elderly population to clients with psychiatric conditions or special needs. With my diverse experience and academic background in psychology, I am dedicated to delivering the highest quality of care to my clients.

Training, qualifications & experience
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) specializing in conducting individual sessions with adults utilizing a psychodynamic approach.
With my education background in Psychology at Columbia University (USA) and Clinical Psychology at the Istanbul Bilgi University (Turkey), I am well versed in the academic background and the theoretical framework of various psychotherapeutic approaches, which I continually reinforce with continued professional development by attending seminars, conferences and certification programmes.
I have significant experience as a mental health specialist mentor working with university students with mental health allowances, giving me a deep appreciation to the nuances of working with a clientele with psychiatric conditions.
One of the primary focuses of my academic career has been investigating the psychological aspects of dating violence, having co-led a study and numerous workshops on Nonviolence in Dating Relationships, and having published my thesis as a qualitative study entitled "Women's Experiences of Safety and Agency in Online Dating" in the peer-reviewed journal Feminism & Psychology.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

I charge £40 for students per session and £50 full price.
I would be more than happy to arrange a complementary 15 minute introductory phone call before making any commitments as discussed above.
I conduct sessions in English and Turkish.
