About me

Hello, I’m Bev.  When our thoughts are disorganised it can sometimes feel so overwhelming that we may struggle to see a clear way forward or to make positive and healthy choices.   Although it is helpful talking to others, many people feel more comfortable and more able to be fully open, talking to a trained professional.

I am an Integrative Person-centred Counsellor and EMDR Practitioner.  I have experience in supporting and helping clients overcome mental health issues including; bereavement, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties and trauma.  I will offer you an accepting, compassionate and confidential environment where you can talk freely about anything that is troubling you without judgement.   An opportunity for you to explore your thoughts and feelings and help you begin your journey towards a better, more positive future.

You can contact me for a free consultation where you can share your concerns or ask any questions. Together we can discuss a realistic, therapeutic plan aimed to help you feel better and move forward.

I am a member of the British Association of Counselling Psychotherapy (BACP) guided by an Ethical Framework ensuring my clients receive the best possible support and service.    I have monthly Supervision in accordance with BACP recommendations and I continue to advance my personal development by attending workshops and seminars.  I am also a Mental Health First Aider.

Counselling is available at my office:

I am available Monday to Thursday from 12.00noon to 6.30pm.  Parking and disabled access available.  I also offer telephone or video counselling.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
