About me

I offer a professional confidential counselling service Face to Face in Suffolk IP13 and also online, for all who need support and are looking for a better way of life. I provide short and long term counselling.

Sometimes it might seem easier to keep struggling and hope that things will get better. But why wait when you can make the change you need to enjoy life now. After all good mental health is as important as good physical health.

How I will work with you

I use an Integrated approach which means I can draw on a variety of  therapeutic models that are tailored to you. Our work will involve a therapeutic conversation, where we will look at how your thoughts, emotions and behaviour interact, and how they may be influenced by core beliefs and past experiences. I will work with you to identify the most helpful shifts in thinking or behaviour and support you in the process of making change. You will be the focus during the session. I will value you as a unique person, and an equal. Depending on your need we may agree a number of sessions or leave this open ended with a planned review date.

What can Counselling help with?

Counselling can help alleviate a wide variety of problems and issues which cause emotional and psychological distress such as anxiety, depression, loss and bereavement, low self esteem, stress, family and relationship issues. Counselling allows you the time and a safe place to understand how your mind works and how your feelings can form your behaviour and way of being. It can help you make the change you need and want.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
