About me

Hello and a very warm welcome to you!

I’m Amber, a qualified person-centred experiential psychotherapist. I’m here to support you on your therapeutic journey, offering support and guidance every step of the way.

Within my practice, I am dedicated to creating an equal therapeutic relationship that is built on empathy and acceptance. I am committed to creating a safe, warming and confidential space where you feel seen, heard, and valued to help you to explore your experiences. Experiential therapy involves engaging with emotions and experiences in the present moment. We will explore the 'what', 'how' and 'why' of your feelings, which, allows for a deeper understanding and awareness of yourself.

Within our sessions I will not tell you what to do, advise or pass judgement, as after all, you are the expert on your own life! Instead, I'll walk beside you, providing guidance and support as you uncover your own insights and solutions.

Whether you prefer face-to-face sessions, phone calls, or online meetings, I’m here to meet you where you are.

If you’d like more information, please don’t hesitate to get in touch or book a free introductory call. I’d be happy to arrange a chat and answer any questions you may have.

Training, qualifications & experience

Since completing my counselling degree, I’ve had the privilege of working both in-person and remotely with children, young people, and adults, supporting them through a wide range of mental health and well-being challenges.

In running my own private practice, I have also gained valuable experience working within the NHS, in palliative care and bereavement services, with domestic abuse charities, and with those who have experienced trauma. I've had the honour of supporting children and young people within schools and colleges, helping them navigate difficult situations and emotions, and providing a safe space where they can be heard.

I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches to meet the unique needs of each client, always aiming to create a collaborative and nurturing environment where they can explore their feelings and embark on a journey of healing and personal growth.

As a registered member of the BACP, I adhere to their ethical framework and remain committed to ongoing professional development. I regularly attend supervision sessions and engage in Continued Professional Development (CPD) to ensure I continue offering the highest level of support to those I work with.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
