I work with all presenting problems, and in addition I specialise in anxiety and depression. I offer Mindful counselling, which can help you see your life differently, change unhelpful thoughts and patterns & experience more choice and inner freedom.

I have a lot of experience working with stress and anxiety, understanding what has created it, and developed tools to create emotional resilience, not only to manage this, but to transform it. Together we will cultivate the emotional resources needed to restore balance, purpose and vitality in your life, relationships, work and hopes for your future.

I will offer you a safe space to take a fresh look at your life and to talk freely and openly about your thoughts, feelings and concerns in a way that is rarely possible in our daily life. I will support you in making sense of your life in a way that leads to a renewed sense of hope and lasting change.

Counselling helps you gain greater insight and understanding into your thoughts, feelings and actions, this process enables you to have greater freedom to make the choices you want in life. This work can be incredibly empowering, inspiring personal growth and change, enabling you to make the most of your life and cope better with life's inevitable challenges. The process offers a chance to gain more understanding of ourselves, thus taking back more control in our lives.

Through the work that we do, you will learn to recognise the thoughts and patterns which are limiting you, gain tools and resources to change these, turning negatives into positives and entering into a rich, more loving authentic relationship with yourself and others with a lot more awareness; awareness gives us choice, and choice brings freedom. I will help you become more aware of how you think, feel and react to conditions, which seem outside your control. Through this process we learn to be kind, open and accepting of what is actually happening, become more aware and skilled with our process, understanding what has created it, and learn to transform the anxiety into awareness, therefore gaining more choice about how we respond in life.

I build on Clients strengths, getting to the core of the issue quickly. Clients report that their therapy effectively addresses their concerns and issues, whilst gaining greater self-awareness and a clear understanding of themselves and their situations, and the ability to make real positive and lasting changes in all areas of their lives.

The MBSR 8-week course will help you find ways of living life with less stress, help you cope better and improve your sense of well being and quality of life.  The aim of the course is to bring more awareness and acceptance into everyday life by establishing a daily mindfulness practice; to deepen understanding of the way we think, feel and react to stress and to understand and practice mindful responses to stress. MBSR is a structured 8 week group course teaching mindfulness meditation as an effective and dependable counter-balance to the stresses of life.It will help you find ways of living life with less stress, help you cope better, improve your sense of well being and quality of life.

We will focus on developing life skills (rather than providing a ‘quick fix’) thereby promoting a greater awareness of ourselves, others and the world around us, as well as a greater capacity to manage stress and improve attention. The course is very practical and participatory; over the weeks we systematically work to cultivate the skill necessary to live a life with more ease, joy and present moment awareness.

When you are mindful, you are more keenly aware of everything that is going on within and around you in this current moment, because you are not so preoccupied with your usual mental wrangling. The "space" that mindfulness opens up gives you the opportunity to observe the happenings of the world in a fresh light and to accept "what is" and leave it at that. 

Without mindfulness, you may react mentally, emotionally and physically to life, and sometimes the consequences of those reactions are even more damaging that the events that brought them up in the first place! 

This course is suitable for newcomers as well as experienced meditator.
It is also extremely helpful for professionals, particularly health professionals, and anyone wishing to find ways of living a less stressful life.

Both the MBSR program and the facilitator create a safe, hospitable environment, as they partner with participants to form a deeply engaging space for learning and growth.
