About me

Hello and Welcome — Exactly As You Are

There’s a short video below to help you get a feel for who I am.
You don’t have to do this alone.
You deserve to feel safe, supported, and deeply understood.

This is a space for healing, connection, and becoming more fully yourself.

You might be here because something inside feels out of sync. You may feel:

Emotionally overwhelmed, anxious, stressed or burned out
Caught in patterns of self-doubt, shame, or inner criticism
Like you’re carrying old wounds that haven’t had space to heal
Disconnected — from yourself, others, or life
Longing for emotional safety, clarity, and meaningful connection

If any of this feels familiar, this space was created with you in mind.

Transformative Therapy for Real Change
Feel Seen, Understood & Gently Supported

I’m Alys — a warm, experienced relational therapist with over 25 years of experience in mindfulness-based therapy, compassionate communication, and somatic healing.

What sets my work apart is how I help you make sense of what’s happening in your inner world. Together, we’ll explore your emotions, your nervous system, and the deeper patterns that shape how you feel and relate. You’ll begin to understand your experience not as something that’s “wrong,” but as a wise response to what you’ve lived through.

When we understand what’s happening in our brain and body, real change becomes possible. This kind of awareness gives us choice — and choice opens the door to freedom and healing.

Inspired by the work of Sarah Peyton and grounded in the relational neuroscience of connection, I’ll help you gently unravel what’s been holding you back, and guide you in creating new ways of being — with more self-trust, calm, and emotional clarity.

What We Can Work on Together

Anxiety, Stress, Overwhelm & Burnout – Finding steadiness and self-trust in the midst of uncertainty.
Self-Criticism & Shame – Softening the inner harshness and growing self-compassion.
Relational Healing – Understanding your relational patterns and how to build safe, nourishing connections.
Trauma & Nervous System Regulation – Gently tending to past wounds with care and attunement.
Authenticity & Self-Discovery – Stepping out of old roles and into who you truly are.

What I Offer
❥ A deeply resonant, attuned space where you are fully seen and understood
❥ Support in rewiring survival patterns into authentic connection
❥ Compassionate guidance in cultivating emotional safety within yourself
❥ A warm and relational approach that honours your unique experience

I warmly welcome neuro-divergent ways of being and experiencing the world. My approach is neuro-affirming, gently honouring the uniqueness of each person’s inner landscape. I offer a space where difference is not just accepted, but deeply respected—and where support is offered with empathy, attunement, and care

How I Work
My approach is gentle, relational, and deeply attuned.
I offer a warm, grounded presence, and we move at a pace that feels right for you.

I draw from:

Mindfulness and compassionate presence
Trauma-informed somatic practices
Polyvagal theory and nervous system regulation
Nonviolent, heart-centered communication

             🌸 A Gift for You: A Simple Worksheet for Self-Connection 🌸

I believe that when we take a moment to truly connect with ourselves, we begin to create space for healing, clarity, and deeper emotional awareness. To support you in this journey, I’ve created a special worksheet that invites you to gently explore your feelings, sensations, and the warmth that resides within.

If you’re looking to reconnect with yourself and nurture your emotional well-being, this worksheet is a beautiful place to start. 🌿

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
