About me

I have always been interested in people, whether that is in education or therapy. I am passionate about helping people become more aware of their past or present situation, and then working towards meaningful change. Helping you to discover and grow into the best version of yourself in an organic way, not striving to fashion yourself into some ideal version or providing a brief sticking plaster.

Perhaps there are personal development goals in work or blocks around relationships that always holds you back? Each person’s reason for seeking therapy is unique. The benefits to be had from addressing the wide-ranging challenges you face are numerous.

The part that doesn't change in client relationships is my commitment to understanding you and helping you meet the realistic aims that you decide.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered member of the BACP and trained in integrative therapy using person-centred & psychodynamic approaches. I trained with Listening Post up to Level 4 diploma in therapeutic counselling.

I work both online (Zoom) and face-to-face outdoors as walk and talk therapy (Westonbirt Arboretum and other sites). Sometimes a combination of both! If you'd like time-limited therapy (to work for an agreed number of sessions) then I can do that. What I can offer ranges from one-off sessions to an open-ended agreement where we review progress regularly.

I have a background in education, so I am also passionate about working with staff mental health in schools, colleges and universities.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I respond quickly and I am flexible. I can adapt to day and evening sessions - a session is usually 50 minutes and takes place once a week, but it can be shorter and twice a week, or even fortnightly. What suits you? What you can commit to is important - it really depends on what you need from our relationship.

When you do choose to begin, the most important decision is that the time is right for you and the therapeutic relationship fits.
