About me
Hello and welcome. I am an Accredited (BACP) senior counsellor with 23 years experience working in a Liverpool University.
I have worked in both a charitable organisation that has BACP accreditation status, and work privately. I have over twenty years counselling experience. In this time I have worked with clients with a wide range of issues such as, severe anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, childhood sexual, physical, and mental abuse, rape and sexual assault, work related stress, post natal depression, bereavement and traumatic bereavement, and a number of personality disorders.
I am a fully qualified and flexible counsellor who works on both a short and long term basis with clients according to preference and need. I offer counselling which is confidential, creative and non-judgmental.
I have used Person Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy with all of my clients, with effective and measured results. I find Person centered therapy and CBT a natural way to work with my counselling style.
I am also a Master Practitioner in Hypnotherapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).
I am a warm and empathic counsellor and person. I consider myself to be non judgmental and ethical in my practice. I do love my work, and respect and admire all the people I have worked with. I have an understanding of just how difficult it is to make the first appointment and go through counselling therapy.
I have four children, and three beautiful grandchildren. . My interests are psychology, philosophy, singing in a choir and walking my gorgeous German Shepherd dogs.
I have taught Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), I devised and deliver lesson plans to a basic, intermediate and advanced diploma level.
I have gained a Diploma is casework supervision which I very much enjoy. I have a number of private supervisees, both trainee counsellors and qualified counsellors.
I worked in the NHS Sexual Assault Referral Clinic (SARC), and provide psychological support for male and female adult and child victims of sexual assault and rape, before, whilst and after the patient attends for a forensic examination.
I worked as the co-ordinator of a children's project, helping children and young people who have suffered loss though bereavement or divorce.
If you searching for a suitable person to talk to regarding something in your life that is not quite the way you would like it to be at the moment? Something may have happened recently, or it might have been building for a while. If so, therapy can be of help.
Therapy may be able to offer insight into these and other concerns in a genuine, accepting and non-judgmental environment. Or it may be that it could be useful to talk about your situation with a trained professional who is not a friend, colleague or family member.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
