Is Counselling for you?
Counselling help people to explore, unravel and deal with issues that affect their lives. These difficulties can be recent or long standing and may reveal themselves as low self-esteem, anxiety and depression, relationship problems, substance abuse or physical illness.
What about Couple (Relationship) Counselling?
Relationship counselling is useful for all types of relationships: marriages, partnerships, friendships, family members, etherosexual and same-sex couples. Any couple or 2 people in a relationship could benefit from finding a safe environment where with professional facilitation they can approach difficult subjects and make changes.
The way I work
I am available to work short term or open ended with individuals, couples and small groups.
I work using a variety of approaches, depending on the individual client and type of issue.
As I am also a qualified Pharmacist I have a full understanding of drug treatments.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness literally means "awareness", is related to meditation but is developing into a discipline on its own. Mindfulness practices focus the attention on the breath, the body and the thoughts and in this way we train our mind to stay in the present moment.
Mindfulness has been scientifically proven to be beneficial to our general health and resistance to stress. It relieves anxiety, depression and is even used to deal with chronic physical pain.
I teach Mindfulness Skills, either to enhance wellbeing or help coping with specific issues.

Clinical Counselling Supervision
I offer individual Supervision (via video call or telephone) to trainees and qualified practitioners.
Confidentiality and Ethics
I abide by the BACP code of ethics and have regular supervision to ensure I work efficiently and respectfully with my clients.
All you say in the session is confidential. The only very rare cases in which we would have to discuss the possibility of involving any third parties would be in case of suicide, serious harm to others, acts of terrorism and summon by the court.

I hold a BSc(Hons) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology and I worked as Pharmacist for many years before becoming a therapist. I am member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS). My experience as pharmacist informs my counselling practice as appropriate whenever clients take medications for mental or other health concerns.

Member organisations
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
