About me

I am an trained, qualified and experienced psychotherapist and supervisor and Certified Cyber Therapist and Cyber Supervisor and have been in private practice since 1998 working with both individuals and couples. I am registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and am bound by their Code of Ethics and Complaints Procedures. I am also a trained online practitioner and member of the Association of Counsellors and Therapists Online (ACTO). I have presented at UKCP, BACP and OCTIA (Online Counselling and Therapy in Action) conferences and was a member of the BACP Expert Reference group who drew up the E-Counselling and Telephone Competencies.

Who comes to therapy?  Well lots of people and they come for a wide variety of reasons. Some people come because they are struggling with issues from their past which are holding them back from living a happy and satisfying life in the present.  Others come for more present day reasons like the break up of a significant relationship, relationship difficulties, the death of a loved one, feeling depressed, stressed or struggling with anxiety or work-place matters.  There are no "wrong" reasons to come to therapy.

Therapy I see as a confidential space and opportunity for you to talk, consider and understand what troubles you.  In privacy and with support, you can explore and develop new possibilities of how you want to live, the life you want you live and the relationships you want to have.

I offer both short term (6 sessions) and longer term therapy and anything in between, you decide what suits you best. You can also decide how you wish to work with me, in-person, via Zoom or a mixture of both.

As a Certified Cyber Therapist and Cyber Supervisor I offer therapy and supervision online via Zoom.com, a free download software that allows for webcam and text conversations or via the telephone. Therapy using technology, is an easy, accessible service well suited to those where travel maybe difficult or some distance or for those who simply want to have therapy from the comfort, safety and privacy of their own home. Therapy via technology also allows you to be supported while you are socially distancing or isolating. Payment is via bank transfer.

Training, qualifications & experience

Certified Transactional Analysts (CTA)
MSc (Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy)
Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling Supervision
Certified Cyber Therapist & Certified Cyber Supervisor

I have over 25 years experience of working with both young people and adults experiencing a wide variety of issues in statutory services, voluntary agencies and the private sector.

I have vast experience of working with children, young people and adults via technology most notably via webcam. I am a trained and qualified online practitioner, both therapist and supervisor and member of ACTO (Association of Counsellors and Therapists Online, membership number 240). Therapy via technology is a growing field and research has shown that it can be as effective as the more traditional face-to-face method of gaining support. If your preference is to have your therapy from the privacy and safety of your home, then this is now possible. Please contact me if you would like to discuss this further.

I also provide clinical supervision for counsellors, psychotherapists and professionals working in the "caring professions". This is via the Zoom.com platform. I am particularly experienced in supported those professionals who work young people together with counsellors and therapists who offer counselling and therapy at a distance.
