About me
Counselling is an individual process. A chance to stop, take time and think about what is happening and how the events that have happened to you, impact your life and relationships.
Trauma affects our entire bodies. It makes our minds focus on the unhelpful and it finds a home within our whole being. The process of counselling is an exploration of how we think, feel, act and use ourselves physically.
I have had over 20 years experience working in the therapeutic world. I have been head of a community substance misuse service, a mental health trainer and have extensive experience in mental health services across Eastern England working with families to understand and navigate how mental health affects all family members. This work includes supporting parents who have children within SEND or the mental health services.
I have also worked with the LBGTQI+community both as an counsellor and advocate.
My deep interest in Women’s issues have led me to work with women around pregnancy, fertility, motherhood and menopause. I am also involved in research and support programmes with women with late diagnosis of Autism and ADHD to help build understanding, support and self belief. This includes working with couples helping to expand knowledge and understanding of neurodivergence within a couple framework.
I have extensive experience working with men and women going through the divorce process, gain autonomy and build self esteem. I particularly help navigate the co-parenting between divorcing spouses.
I have an addictions speciality having worked in substance misuse services for many years with a particular interest in how substances effects women.
Extensive personal and professional experience of working with cancer from diagnosis, through treatment and post treatment recovery. Through this work I have assisted people with palliative and end of life care helping individuals and families with this stage of life.
I worked with Age Concern and Age UK as an older peoples advocate so have a lot of experience around the aging process and how it affects confidence and self esteem.
I also have extensive experience as a postural stability instructor and ballet teacher so I am aware of how the body moves under stress.
I work in a person centred, Psychodynamically informed way, at your pace. I offer encouragement to try postural and breathing techniques and other self care that may be useful in getting to know your whole self.
I look forward to the journey with you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
