About me

Welcome to my page. My name is Tracey and I am an experienced counsellor and member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).  I am based in Dagenham.

Do you constantly worry? Do you struggle to say no to things you just don't want to do through fear of upsetting a friend or family member? Do you feel like it is a daily struggle to be loved, seen, heard, valued and constantly strive to be perfect to be accepted by others which only leaves you feeling exhausted and overwhelmed.  if you could just get a good night sleep, but your mind will not swich off.

These are all ways in which anxiety and low self - esteem can rear its head. That constant internal bully which will not be quiet.

Our thoughts, feelings and beliefs can dictate the way we live our lives and the choices we make.  At times these can feel completely overwhelming to us and difficult to manage. At times we may feel lost, confused and stuck. not entirely sure what is wrong but something just doesn't feel right. This can be a lonely, scary and misunderstood place.

I have extensive experience working with clients with anxiety, depression, self- esteem and relationship issues.   I also have extensive knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse, trauma bonding and why we repeat the cycle of remaining in toxic relationships.

learning to understand and accept yourself can be an unsettling place but it can equally be empowering and rewarding.  It can evoke choice and change that you never thought possible.

my aim is to walk with you through your journey by offering a safe, trusting and non-judgemental space for you to explore what is going on for you right now and what you would like the future to hold.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified humanistic and cognitive behavioural therapist (CBT) and my approach is to work in the 'hear and now'. This means that the most important part of our relationship is that you feel heard and understood by me and together we work towards creating trust between us.

As our relationship develops and you feel more comfortable, we can introduce different types of therapy.  I am qualified in cognitive behavioural therapy and specialise in working with anxiety and relationship issues.  I have extensive understanding and knowledge of domestic abuse, trauma bonding and repeated cycle patterns within toxic relationships.

There is no set agenda when using different types of therapy, together we can adapt to what works for you. MBCAP registered counsellor - no 00906703

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
