About me
Every person is unique and deserves a unique service, life maybe difficult at the present moment but that does not have to define who you are. Daily struggles can overwhelm us and the pressures can become unbearable, the important thing is you don't have to deal with this alone.
As your therapist I am here to listen and assist you in finding the answers deep within, allowing you to access the body's own amazing resources that can help change your current situation. I can call upon a range of different therapies in order for you to achieve this including brainspotting to work with trauma, in a safe non judgmental environment.
I can help by giving you the space to talk about what it is that is affecting you in daily life, sometimes though just talking is not enough and I can then offer you a therapy called brainspotting designed to work with trauma, this could be developmental traumas, traumas sustained through abuse or a trauma caused by a single life changing event.
I have been through therapy myself and have the life experience to go with it, I know the struggles in acknowledging and reaching out for a helping hand and quite often this can be the hardest part of your journey to recovery. With this you will find a safe and non judgemental environment waiting for you when you are ready to reach out.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a BA Hons degree in counselling and psychotherapy from Liverpool John Moore University.
I am also a phase 1 trained brainspotting therapist.
Membership: National Counselling Society / Accredited Professional Registrant
Brainspotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms. Brainspotting is a simultaneous form of diagnosis and treatment, enhanced with Biolateral sound, which is deep, direct, and powerful yet focused and containing. I work with both adults and young people in private practice and I am currently a school therapist working with high school pupils.
