Therese Thomson PG DIP Counselling. MBACP. MCOSCA.
Experienced, Caring, Professional
I have 22 years experience which includes NHS counselling, Lifelink, professional Counselling Centres and Private Practice.
You can be assured that confidentiality will be upheld to the highest standards both inside and outside the counselling room and your identity will be protected at all times.
Specialist in Anxiety and Depression
I specialise in anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder and depression, with specialist postgraduate training in the latest research and interventions. I am also experienced in many different fields of counselling such as family issues, grief, bereavement, low self-esteem and many other areas.
It is important that clients feel safe and comfortable with their Counsellor. I offer a free consultation to discuss the issues you are experiencing and to better understand what you would like to achieve through counselling.
You can use this time to meet me - to get a sense of who I am and how I work. Most clients prefer to do this in person but we can do this by telephone. If you feel comfortable to proceed, we can arrange a separate appointment for a later date, but you are under no obligation to do so.
Effective counselling is confidential, safe, non-judgemental and brings about lasting change.
I use a wide range of therapeutic techniques to directly address issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, bereavement, loss and family difficulties. I will support you safely through this process and help you reach your counselling goals.
I am a Registered Member of both the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland (COSCA), I am qualified, insured and PVG-checked.
Clients have described their counselling experience with me as warm, professional, approachable and above all, effective.
Integrity, honesty and expertise are core values that I bring to all my client work in a safe and non-judgemental way.
I will normally reply to your email or text on the same day you contact me. (My mobile is switched off when I'm with clients, so email is the fastest way to make contact). I check my mobile and emails regularly throughout the day and will get straight back to you.
Counselling sessions are available in East Kilbride and Strathaven. Easy to reach from Hamilton, Stonehouse and Wishaw. Each session lasts 60 minutes. Free parking in Strathaven.
Usually, you will be offered an appointment within 7 days.
