About me

Hello and thank you for looking at my profile.

I understand that seeking therapy can be an uncertain and challenging process and the continuing changes we face in life means the world we live in can bring many challenges.

Deciding to seek counselling enables you to have the space and time to really work on yourself and the issues you are facing. It is the first step towards a new you and with the right intervention’s I believe every individual can become a stronger version of themselves.

I am able to offer on line zoom sessions and for those who are struggling with the thoughts of meeting face to face this can be an excellent route to therapy. If you are unsure I can help you develop your skills and confidence using technology enabling access to therapy through technology.

About Me

I am a qualified (PC) Person-Centred Counsellor and (CBT) Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. Registered member of (BACP) working within the BACP framework and working toward accreditation, I undergo regular supervision which is part of the BACP requirements.

My experience is working with children, young people and families for over twenty years. I have also worked with adults enhancing my experience in counselling.

Having both Person Centred and CBT experience gives me the skills to offer an integrative approach with you the client exploring your needs in a safe, non-judgemental professional way building a relationship together being part of the therapeutic process.

Person Centred is a talking therapy giving you the opportunity to explore and express your thoughts and feelings to find a way forward that is best for you, as your counsellor I am not there to tell you what to do but to support you in searching for your answers.

CBT is a therapy to help you develop change, we will work together to look at your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, how these interlink, understanding this can develop a new mindset helping make those changes you are looking for in life. CBT is a therapy that looks at issues such as anxiety, depression, phobias and panic disorders CBT is directive, you need to be fully focused and onboard to complete tasks outside the session enabling development within the therapy.

I am dedicated and passionate about my role as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist and with this in mind, I feel that you are the centre of the therapy. Working together exploring emotions and issues within the sessions, empowering you to engage and work through the therapy toward a better you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
