About me

A lot has happened in the last few years and, even though we're no longer in a Lockdown,  it can still be a difficult time for all of us as we readjust and re-focus on the feelings we were experiencing before that time, and on what we have experienced since then. It's going to be more important than ever to reach out and share your mental health concerns. I am offering face-to-face appointments in Doncaster, as well as still providing telephone, text and online appointments for those who prefer this method of keeping connected.

I am an experienced psychotherapist/counsellor working with clients through a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, historic child sexual abuse, sexual violence, domestic abuse, bereavement, betrayal, chronic pain, relationship worries, work concerns, divorce, PTSD, weight worries, anger management, loneliness, bullying etc. I offer Individual, Couples, Group and Family counselling/psychotherapy. Our mental and emotional well-being, just like our physical health, can become unwell. As a result, our relationships with others can become difficult to manage - whether they are of a personal nature or at work. Talking with a non-judgemental person can be helpful to explore what you are going through and to help you discover clarity and potential solutions.

I'm eager to encourage clients of the older generation too who may feel reluctant to seek talking therapy support for various reasons.

I offer a confidential, compassionate and non-judgemental service to those with an Armed Forces background and appreciate the difficulties experienced by those who serve, and the potential reluctance to come forward and ask for help. It's your turn now to be supported.

I have an Enhanced DBS certificate.

I’m a qualified integrative therapeutic counsellor and Clinical Hypnotherapist whose practice is underpinned by Humanistic/Person Centred theory but is also completely individualised to suit your needs and can incorporate a collaboration of Systemic, Solution Focused, CBT, Psychodynamic and Person Centred approaches.

I am also a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist. Hypnotherapy can also be used to help with many different issues including confidence, stress and anxiety, stopping smoking, phobias, infertility and hypnobirthing etc.

Please feel free to telephone, text or email me for further information about any of the services I offer.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
