Susan Lee Chong. Dip. Couns.
You can be reassured that, with me, you have an opportunity to share your deepest thoughts and feelings and be genuinely listened to without being judged. Have you ever experienced that feeling of “Oh I wish I’d never said anything!” when you’ve spoken to family or friends? Even if you have the support of caring people around you – and let’s face it we don’t necessarily always have that – their opinions or actions may not always be what we want – or expect. Counselling takes away the fear of regret at having spoken about how you feel. With me, you will not be met with a “why?”, a criticism or an instruction but, instead, you can be assured that you will have the freedom to be yourself - because that’s good enough. Just say it how it is – because that’s ok. And together we can work through whatever it is you are thinking and feeling is holding you back and preventing you from being who you are “meant to be”.
We all have mental health and sometimes, as with physical health, it can become unwell.
I’m a qualified integrative therapeutic counsellor whose practice is underpinned by Humanistic/Person Centred theory but is also completely individualised to suit your needs. I have spent the last couple of years having had the privilege of working with clients through a wide range of issues including historic child sexual abuse, sexual violence, domestic abuse, bereavement, betrayal, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, chronic pain, relationship worries, divorce, symptoms of PTSD, anger management, learning difficulties, loneliness, loss of that sense of self – that “who am I?” feeling. Clients are welcome to be seen on an individual basis, as a couple or as a family.
