About me
I work with both individuals and couples.
Individuals:
I have a particular interest in working with young professionals going through a change of life crisis. Whether you are in your 20's, 30's or 40's the pressure from family, friends, society and yourself can feel crushing. How do you navigate becoming who you want to be, when you are so aware of who you think you should be? These emotional pressures can begin to manifest physically in anxiety, depression, OCD, insomnia and chronic pain.
During your life, the way you process emotions can create behavioural patterns which begin as helpful, even necessary for survival. As you enter into a new stage of your life, you may have begun to realise these patterns no longer serve you, in fact, they can be actively standing in your way. It can feel impossible to know how to change them and find who you are underneath. Often we do not realise how our upbringing has affected us until something comes up which forces us to look at it. The impact of those early years and school can shape the way we relate to the world. The key to understanding and to change is to look beneath the everyday, follow your emotions and find what lies at the root.
Couples:
My practice is known for its warm, empathetic environment where couples can openly explore their challenges and work towards sustainable solutions. I prioritise a collaborative working relationship, we will define common goals and work together towards them. My approach is personalised and structured to the individual needs of each couple, not one size fits all. You will receive tailored interventions that align with your unique needs and relationship dynamics. It is essential that you are both heard equally to move forward and that differences do not always lead to conflict. I can provide tools and techniques that allow this to continue beyond the therapeutic environment.
When we choose to embark on a relationship, it was right for you at exactly that time. We can take care to align both values and interests but ultimately people can change. It is almost impossible to remain unchanged by life’s challenges. My role is to rediscover the foundations of why you chose each other and help you to communicate why and how your needs may have evolved. It is possible that resentment may have built up over a period of time leading to disconnection. I believe it is important to understand how our upbringing and history has moulded the way in which we form and behave in relationships. I am not there to be the judge of whose behaviour is right or wrong, but to support you with a safe, calm environment to begin to understand each other’s intentions.
Does this sound like you?
The first step into therapy can feel uncertain, even if you have experienced it before and opening up to a stranger is never an easy task. For this reason, I offer a no obligation 15 minute consultation via video call or over the phone. This is to help you decide if we are a good fit to work together. My job is to welcome you into a safe space and help you to feel at ease. This means you won’t feel judged by me and I will give you the time and space you need to process. Therapy is not about asking a professional to solve your problems. Instead, it is a partnership where we work together to change how you relate to the issues in your life.
I am an integrative relational counsellor which means I draw from several theoretic approaches, tailored to you as a client. I believe each human being is of value and has the potential for psychological change and holds the answer to their problems within them. I am there to enable you to find it.
I can offer help to adults (18+) to understand and overcome a range of emotional difficulties.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
