About me

Do you find relationships challenging or perhaps often feel inexplicably angry? Does your anxiety easily gets triggered by a simple incoming thought or "usually manageable" destabilising emotion, situation, life event?  Do you experience feelings of being disconnected from those around you, possibly labelling yourself as "depressed"? Are you behaving inauthentically just to please someone else? Is childhood trauma or a previous toxic, abusive relationship affecting how you connect and engage with others? Maybe you have lost a child or a loved one and the loss and grief has become too much to manage alone.

Starting your therapeutic journey can be a daunting experience. Doubts may creep in about:

  • what therapy might involve;
  • pouring your heart out to a stranger;
  • finding the time or energy for weekly sessions;
  • being judged and labelled as you are seeing a therapist; or
  • looking "weak" for reaching out when others seem fine on their own.

I am Simona, a Counsellor and Psychotherapist working within an Integrative Humanistic model. I provide a contained safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you feel secure enough to talk about and express your fears and concerns.  You can take your time to explore any feelings that need direction, a process that facilitates your growth, reaching the level of clarity to best engage with your life and live it authentically.

Therapy was there for me, and I know how important it is to have someone to listen and support you whilst you identify your challenges, bring them back and begin to normalise them.

I am LGBTQ+ friendly and presenting issues I work with include: childhood abuse, depression, anxiety (GAD), bereavement, specialising in relationship dynamics and personality disorders that may include Borderline Personality Disorder (Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder), Dissociative Identity Disorder. Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

UK Council for Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Additional information

I offer an initial 50-minute consultation to get to know each other and get a feel for what brought you to counselling/therapy. If indecisive, we can schedule a further 3 exploratory sessions to see whether therapy and, particularly, therapy with me is the right thing for you.

I offer short- and long-term work as well as open ended. My personal belief is that therapy is not a quick fix as it takes time to build a transformative therapeutic relationship, however certain issues can be dealt with on a shorter term basis.

  • Initial 50-minute consultation: £70
  • Subsequent sessions (50-minute): £70

I have a few slots available for students and low-income clients, please contact me for further information.

Further information

I am based in West London (Ealing) and offer sessions in person and online via Zoom, Skype, Facetime or telephone.

I am here to applaud you for taking the first step and looking on the Counselling Directory for a counsellor that is right for you. This might be one of the most courageous things you have done in your life. Fear and Ego may wish to keep you in the safety of their known territory. It takes guts to lay all your cards on the table, take an honest look at yourself and your life, your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and explore how you might change your situation.

Please call me on +447940 926900 or send me an email if you have any questions or would like to book a session.
