About me

Counselling is about you. You may come with worries and concerns, feeling unsure about which direction to take, feeling stuck or weighed down. My person-centred practice puts you and your feelings at the centre of our work together. Rather than give you advice, I am there to listen, to be alongside you when you explore whatever comes up and we will work together at your speed.

Counselling is also about us. We will develop our relationship in a safe space where you can talk about anything. For some, this may be initially difficult. Though counselling isn’t supposed to be easy, you may feel that it gets easier beyond the opening sessions. You will be the judge of how deep we go and when you are ready for this to happen. I believe that healing takes place within the relationship where I offer warmth and understanding along with genuineness.

Facing problems can be challenging or overwhelming. Even when faced with the most distressing challenges, I have witnessed people find the strength to grow and go on to experience fulfilling moments in their lives.

As a professional counsellor and therapist, I have the training and experience to help you to navigate your distress and empower you to make steps towards transforming your life.

Counselling is a unique experience and is different for everybody. I hope that you find the counselling experience to match your needs.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and for considering choosing me as your counsellor.

I offer daytime and evening appointments Monday to Friday in-person, via online video, via telephone or a blended combination.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
