About me

I currently work in Private practice offering face to face appointments in Keston, Kent.  I also offer online counselling via Zoom.

I  am a fully trained Humanistic Integrative Counsellor and Supervisor with 18+ years experience.

If you are looking for help with areas of your life which are causing anxiety, difficulty, feelings of sadness or distress, then counselling may be a way to get back on track, to heal, to reconnect and find meaning again. The aim of my work is to improve your quality of life ,to assist you in your self-discovery to help you take control of your own wellness.

I offer a no-obligation, free-of-charge 15 minute conversation so that you can decide if you would like to meet me for an initial 50 minute consultation session.

Please contact me by phone on 07941 094949 or send me an email if you would like to connect.

My Background

Following a career in teaching and training, I began my counsellor training in 2006. I have been working in a GP surgery setting since 2014, as well as working in my own practice. I am now a fully qualified counselling Supervisor. I am an experienced Level 4 CPCAB Tutor, teaching adults who are training to become counsellors.

I also run regular Mindfulness Courses. I am a member of The British School of Meditation and have trained with Mary Neilson, who works as a trainer and consultant in schools and businesses. Part of my work is to encourage Emotional Resilience, thereby reducing the intensity and duration of emotional responses in life, such as anxiety, fear, self-sabotage and other uncomfortable emotional reactions.

I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor and member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MABCP). Working in an integrative way means that I can approach my work with you whilst drawing on a number of therapeutic approaches, so that you can receive counselling which is tailored to your needs.

How I Can Help

I work with a range of emotional difficulties, and I am able to offer counselling to individuals (adults and A level/ University students) of all ages. I have extensive experience dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, addictions, change and life transitions, family issues, exam stress, career and life choices, bereavement and loss, affairs and betrayals, separation and divorce, illness (acute and chronic), abuse, managing difficult feelings and many other related matters.

I also have experience in the following areas:-

ADHD, dealing with Addictions, dealing with Panic Attacks, building Self-Confidence, Developing Emotional Resilience, Diversity Issues, Getting Past your Breakup, Inner Child Work, Menopause, Public Speaking, Purpose, Self-Harm, Sleep Problems, Social Anxiety, Tinnitus and Work-Related Stress.

I am in clinical supervision to BACP requirements to sustain and monitor my working practice and maintain ethics in my counselling practice. All of my work is done in the strictest of confidence

Please feel free to contact me direct on 07941 094949 to discuss your next steps.

Our first counselling session will be explorative and collaborative, where we will look at what you would like to work on. Our work can be  reviewed at regular intervals so that it continues to feel relevant and useful.

I offer weekly sessions which allows for good reflection and a flow in our work.

I am available face-to-face, in-person sessions at my home practice. I also work on-line via Zoom.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

It can feel very challenging to take that first step to book a counselling appointment. It can help to just talk through what's going on before making that first appointment. I offer an initial no obligation, free-of-charge 15 minute conversation. From there we can arrange an initial 50 minute consultation session to explore whether the 'fit' feels good enough to commit to working together.
