About me

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist offering online and face to face sessions.

We all experience difficulties in our lives but when it impacts on how we feel and on our day to day living, it can really help to talk to someone and have them understand what it is like for you, no one else, but for you.

And when we are really and truly heard, maybe for the first time, then change absolutely can happen.  I'm here to help you find that change and manage those difficulties, and I consider it a genuine privilege to help you do so.

So, if you are worried, anxious, depressed, or are going through a difficult time with your relationship, work or family, know that help is out there, and you don't have to do this alone.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and have training in, amongst other areas, anxiety, depression, bereavement, gender identity, sexuality and relationships.

I have worked as a senior leader in education for over 20 years and specialise in working with young people (14+).  I'm warm and open, and I understand the difficulties young people face.  I continue to work part-time as a school counsellor in a Sixth Form school.

I'm also a cancer survivor and have a deep and empathetic understanding of the issues this can bring for sufferers, and for their loved ones, although of course, everybody's experience is unique. But sometimes it can help to know that the person you are talking to has a lived experience of some of those difficulties.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
