About me
My clients describe me as genuine, empathic, caring, and down to earth. I'm here to listen and help you to feel comfortable with the counselling process. Most importantly, I'm hear to help you find a different way of being.
My approach is integrative which means I have lots of complementary ways of working to suit you. I'll provide a compassionate space to talk over a long or short period. We can work with a specific focus in mind or more organically. I often work creatively and also offer psychoeducation where appropriate.
I provide counselling for adult individuals, couples, parents, young people and children around all kinds of emotional distress; wellbeing; and relationships. Over 15 years experience; I have worked in a national counselling organisation offering relationship counselling; in a school, and for a rape and sexual assault centre. I also hold my own private practice. This length of experience has been working nationally via telephone, video-call, email and via instant messaging; as well as in person. Please let me know which way you'd like to work. I'm qualified to level 6. I'm a Clinical Supervisor for other therapists, and a Counselling Trainer.
There is more information about what issues I can help with and details about me on my website. Please take a look and feel free to get in touch. I'm more than happy to answer any questions or queries.
Testimonials
"Sam has been amazing; she is the greatest listener, extremely compassionate and professional, and made me feel safe and at ease minutes into the very first session. The advice and guidance she offered has been invaluable and I will take it with me for the rest of my life. I would recommend Sam to anybody looking for support/help; her warmth, kindness and skills are the best I’ve experienced in any counsellor yet." [Client of Couple Counselling]
"My counsellor has helped me improve so many different aspects of my life. Provided me with support and helped me identify where my problems were. With my counsellors help I work on these points all the time. I’ve overcome so much and wouldn’t have been able to do it without her help. I can’t thank her enough!" [Client]
"Sam has a very calm, professional and approachable persona. I have always found her to be supportive. Her knowledge of theory and applying this to practice has been so helpful in my own development" [Counsellor Supervisee]
