Ruth Alborough MBACP (Accred)
You will find I am friendly, attentive and take the time to make sure you are getting what you need. Therapy can help you to make sense of your difficulties and experiences and work out what changes you might want to make.
You might be having difficulties with your relationships at home or at work.
You might be struggling with your confidence or feel that others are better than you.
You might be feeling low or unhappy and want to know why.
You might have had difficult childhood experiences that are still haunting you.
You might have had traumatic or upsetting experiences that you cannot get past.
Whatever the problem therapy with me can help to lighten your load and make real, effective changes to your life.
I have over 20 years experience as a counsellor, supervisor and trainer and am a BACP Accredited Counsellor, and an accredited EMDR therapist. I originally trained in Humanistic Counselling and now offer an Integrative Approach to individuals, adolescents and couples. This means I am willing to help you explore your past, present and future, whichever you feel will help. I will not expect you to talk about anything you don't want to, and we will agree together what the focus of our work will be and how many sessions you would like to have.
I have completed training, and have experience in delivering regular and trauma focused therapy online.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
