About me
Hi and thank you for visiting my profile.
My name is Reece Byrne and I have been counselling individuals for over 10 years and have been supervising people for 6 years.
I am an integrative therapist and addiction specialist. I have worked with people struggling with addictions for over 12 years and draw on my own past experiences with addictions and partly use this to help others to control theirs. I am able to draw on a number of different models of therapy in supporting clients to reach their desired goals, these models include Transactional analysis, psychodrama, person centred and psycho-dynamic approaches. I also offer coaching and professional development sessions and for those qualified or training in counselling and counselling psychology, personal therapy and clinical supervision.
I work full time as a Clinical Supervisor 9-5, but offer counselling and supervision Monday to Friday 'Evenings' and Saturday Morning.
Since qualifying in counselling in 2009 I have also trained in Trauma work, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing and also completed my teacher training CERT/ED. I have my Certificate in Supervision taken at the Manchester Institute of Transactional Analysis. I am also an accredited mindfulness practitioner. I am currently studying 'again' May 2020 in 'level 5' leadership and management.
I provide one to one counselling, helping people with issues such as anger, trauma, low self esteem, low confidence, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, social isolation, childhood issues, emotional abuse, addictions, PTSD and relationship troubles.
I have a simple approach to my therapeutic work. I believe that when we are feeling isolated, hopeless, angry, guilty or just lost, we become disconnected from both ourselves and those close to us. Part of my role is to help you explore why this has happened and help you gain an understanding of how you can use this self-knowledge to move forwards to a future were you have greater insight and a sense of belonging and gain some control back into your life.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me by either phone or email

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
