About me

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist who strives to create a warm, accepting and compassionate space for my clients. Working together, I can support you to understand how your past experiences shape your current patterns and help you to develop skills so you can work through difficult feelings to find a sense of peace. I work in a way which aims to understand and nurture your strengths so they can support you to live a happier and more fulfilled life. When going through painful life events or periods of difficult mental health, our sessions can work to make you feel emotionally supported and heard in a non-judgemental space.

I work with clients who are 16 and over, and my expertise and experience lays in supporting young adults (16-35). I specialise in working in a neurodiversity-affirming and trauma informed way. Due to this, I work supportively with a range of clients who identify as neurodivergent (such as ADHD, ADD, autism and/or dyslexia). I also work therapeutically with clients who identify as being disabled and/or live with chronic health issues. My clients bring a wide range of issues to their therapy sessions, knowing that I will meet them with respect and understanding.

Having worked in student support and mental health in universities for many years, I am able to offer students (16+ years) from all backgrounds tailored, specialist therapeutic support.

As a bi therapist, I am committed to creating inclusive and safe spaces for clients who identify as LGBTQ+. I am passionate about providing therapy that affirms people and communities who experience marginalisation because of any part of their identity. My therapy room is welcoming and open to all.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
