About me
Hi, I am Bex and I am an Accredited Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor with over 20 years’ experience of working within mental health. I work with adults and children.
I know that seeking counselling can be a daunting process, however, I offer a warm, supportive and non- judgemental space where we can explore any issues that could be preventing you from living a more fulfilling life.
I have worked within a variety of communities and cultures offering mental health support for individuals that have experienced a one-off traumatic event to years of constant suffering with their own emotional well-being, striving for a happier life.
My years of training and experience in becoming a counsellor have taught me that each client is unique with their own perspective and understanding depending on their context and experience- it is my work to sit alongside you and understand your pain, finding a way together to alleviate some of the suffering whilst trusting your own feelings and intuition. You may not always know what you want from this process and that might be something you discover during our work together, this is time for you to be heard and understood. I believe a therapeutic relationship can be a powerful tool for change and alongside this I offer a variety of interventions that you can use and adapt to suit your needs, taking away your own tool box of strategies to support your life after the counselling process has finished.
I have experience of working with additional needs, specifically Autism/ ADHD and have worked for agencies offering counselling for survivors of sexual abuse, bereavement and loss and adolescent trauma. I also offer consultancy and advocacy work for families that are wondering about neurodiversity. My work is neuro- affirming.
