About me

What I offer

I am a registered member of the BACP which means I adhere to their Ethical framework. I work with your best interest at the heart of everything I do.

I will provide you a safe space, where you can talk about how you’re feeling, without being judged. I will listen unconditionally, giving you the opportunity to explore what is really challenging you.
Anxiety, depression, past experiences, trauma and more, may be making you feel stuck or even sinking. I offer you a therapeutic relationship, where you can learn about yourself, find your own inner strength and belief that changes for the better can be made.

My mode of working is person centred/psychodynamic.

Person centred theory is the trust that each one of us has the ability within ourselves to become happy with who we are, and develop self-acceptance.

As a counsellor, I walk alongside you and work with you in a safe way to help you achieve this.

I use psychodynamic theory to highlight patterns that I notice, of how you relate. These ways of relating often stem back to early childhood experiences, where you learned strategies/habits to cope with circumstances that were out of your control. Those coping mechanisms may have benefited you then, but are no longer helpful, and may be affecting your close relationships.

The therapy

Is centred around you - you can choose what you want to discuss and at what pace. I listen non-judgementally and help unpick whatever has been going on for you, which has led you to seek counselling.

I am Menopause trained and have been a Neurodiversity advocate and champion for years.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
