Qing Xia (MBACP, MEd, MSc)
Hello, my name is Qing, pronounced as /ching/. I am a BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) registered integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, specialising in working with children and young people. My main work is with clients from infancy to 25 years old. And I have been seeing a couple of adult clients. I am approachable, playful and creative. I offer face-to-face and online counselling in English and Chinese Mandarin.
I have extensive experience working with children and young people from different developmental stages in various settings. I have been a child counsellor in primary schools. I have also had counselling with secondary-school and sixth-form students in a charity, and adults who had traumatic experiences for another charity. In addition, I am a qualified Montessori teacher.
I was born and brought up in China, where I received my Chinese counselling qualification in 2009. Since 2011, I have been studying and working in London. I believe counselling can be both creative and life-enhancing through our reciprocal and intersubjective experiences.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
£50 for the initial consultation, which takes up to an hour. The first meeting enables us to decide whether this is the counselling service you would like to take.
Beginning at £60 per 50-minute session (currently online). I recommend a minimum of 6-12 continuous weeks’ counselling. Fees are variable.
Reduced rates available under specific circumstances, reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Please contact me for further details.
Please contact me for my availability (also leave me a voicemail, I'll get back to you as soon as possible). Thanks.
Theraplay® Informed Practice
Theraplay® is a parent-child therapeutic model, which involves playful and structured interactive activities. It provides both the child and the parent with positive and reciprocal experiences of safety, regulation, self-esteem, and social engagement.
I am currently undertaking Theraplay Level 1 & MIM (Marschak Interaction Method Assessment) training. So, I am able to incorporate Theraplay informed practice and MIM assessment under supervision. Please contact me for details about how I deliver and charge for Theraplay informed practice and MIM assessment.
