About me

As an experienced  'Person Centred'  accredited counsellor with the BACP and NCPS,  I strictly adhere to both codes of ethics. I am also a Psychosexual Therapist adhering to the ethical framework of NAOS & COSRT.

I feel the relationship between counsellor and client is key and so I offer a safe, confidential environment, led by you, the client, and as such will not judge or offer advice but will listen, explore and reflect back what I hear, see and feel, giving you space and time to discover your own resolution.

I  work with individuals, couples, groups, organisations  with both adults and young people. Clients may be self-referred, via GP, occupational health, insurance companies or EAP (Employee Assisted Program).

I can also offer counselling via telephone or video.

If you would like to know more about me or the counselling process then please feel free to contact me via my mobile or email and I will more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

Training, qualifications & experience

My experience and  training covers a wide spectrum of presenting issues  and I have worked with bereavement, and drug and alcohol addiction, anxiety, relationship difficulties, bullying, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, sex & intimacy and eating disorders.

Although I am a 'Person Centred' counsellor I do use  Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Inner Child work, Motivational Enhancement Therapy and creative counselling – all of which are underpinned from my core  practice.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
