About me

Hello and welcome to my profile page. I offer a sensitive and confidential approach to whatever is troubling you; regardless of age, gender, sexuality or culture. I specialise in Family and relationship therapy.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions  or if you wish to arrange an appointment.  You can contact me by email or by phone - if I am unable to take your call, I will attempt to get back to you within 24 hours.

I provide an open, safe and confidential space to explore issues often related to relationships and family difficulties.

The first meeting, generally  to understand what has brought you to counselling, your reasons for seeking support.  At this appointment we can also work out what you want to achieve in the sessions. I will take some history about you (and your partner and family) as this is necessary in order for me to fully understand you and your circumstances

This also gives you the opportunity to get a feel for counselling and whether it feels right for you.

Using integrative and systemic approaches I will work collaboratively with you to help develop and identify areas to explore. Working together will help you understand yourself and your partner/family more fully. This can be especially useful when you have reached a crisis point or communication is difficult, thus assisting to develop better communication, resolve conflict and create compassion. Developing self-awareness is key to helping you make the changes you want in order to live more fully. Also, we will explore and understand Family hurts and difficulties, sharing and listening together to find ways forward.

My creative approach aims to alleviate distress and address their underlining cause. We will work collaboratively; developing an open and trusting therapeutic relationship. I aim to provide a safe and non-judgemental space for you to explore whatever is troubling you and together we work out a way of overcoming the issues, enabling growth and strength.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
