About me
MBACP Adult and young person counsellor.
Hello, I’m Nicky - Counsellor specialising in ADHD, Autism, and Anxiety
Do you feel constantly overwhelmed by your thoughts? Struggle with sensory overload, rejection sensitivity, or feel like you’re always masking just to fit in or get through the day?
I work with young people and adults who are neurodivergent – often living with ADHD, Autism (ASD), or anxiety – and who are tired of feeling misunderstood or mentally exhausted. You might find yourself stuck in loops of overthinking, people-pleasing, or self-blame, feeling emotionally raw, on edge, or just not like yourself.
Therapy with me offers a space to pause and reset. Together, we can explore:
How sensory overstimulation, anxiety and masking affect your mind and body
Why your nervous system might feel ‘stuck’ in fight, flight or freeze – and how to gently regain a sense of calm
Unhelpful thinking styles and how to challenge them with care and insight
Tools to manage overwhelm, reconnect with yourself, and build self-trust
How to advocate for your needs and honour the way your brain works
I’m passionate about helping you recognise patterns that no longer serve you, and discover new ways of coping that feel empowering, not exhausting. Whether you’re just beginning to explore your neurodivergence or have lived with these challenges for years, therapy can help you feel more in control and less alone.
You don’t have to keep masking or managing everything on your own. Let’s find a way forward – one that feels more balanced, authentic and sustainable for you.
I will offer a warm, safe, non-judgemental space. With a down to earth, approachable personality, I hope to make you feel at ease.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I work in private practice and educational settings. I have a particular interest in supporting people who experience anxiety — whether that shows up as constant overthinking, panic, social withdrawal, or a deep sense of unease. Together, we’ll explore what’s beneath the surface with compassion and curiosity, not judgment.
I have experience counselling adults and young people who have a diagnosis of ASD/ADHD and related conditions or who are on the pathway.
I work with those that struggle with processing issues, sensory issues, anxiety, stress, family issues, self harm, suicide, body dysmorphia, bereavement, depression, OCD, low self esteem and lack of focus.
My approach is grounded in creating safety and trust. I understand that entering therapy can feel daunting, and I aim to be gently attuned to what feels manageable for you. Whether this is your first step toward counselling, or you’re returning to therapy after a break, you’ll be met with care and respect.
