Counsellor, Dip.Couns MBACP

About me

Overthinking, anxiety or finding it hard to switch off can leave you feeling overwhelmed and emotionally drained. You may find yourself doubting yourself more than usual, struggling with confidence, or wondering why life feels more difficult right now.

There does not need to be a particular reason to come to counselling. Sometimes people come because life feels difficult, they are struggling to make sense of how they are feeling, or simply want space to reflect and better understand themselves.

Counselling can offer a space to begin making sense of what is happening for you, at a pace that feels right for you.

I am a qualified integrative counsellor working with adults and young people aged 11+, offering face to face counselling in Ash (GU12), near Aldershot, Farnham and Camberley, as well as online across the UK.

Alongside experiences such as anxiety, low self-esteem, overthinking or feeling stuck, counselling can offer an opportunity to explore what may be contributing to how you are feeling and what may feel difficult right now.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified integrative counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I hold a Diploma in Integrative Counselling, alongside further training in counselling young people, including a Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Adolescents. I work with both adults and young people aged 11+.

My work is grounded in person-centred counselling, meaning our sessions are led by you and what feels important to bring. As an integrative counsellor, I draw on different ideas and approaches depending on your individual needs, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

Alongside my private practice, I also work as a school counsellor in a secondary school, supporting young people aged 11–16.

I engage in regular professional supervision and ongoing professional development to support my work. I am fully insured and hold an enhanced DBS check.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
