About me
I am a Chartered Principal Clinical Psychologist whose approach to therapy is psychodynamic, focusing on understanding a person’s individual experience of the world and the problems they’ve come to live with. This involves us working together to try to understand the particular meaning of one’s difficulties and troubling feelings and how and why such distressing experiences have occurred at this point in life. Such understandings often help people feel less troubled and stuck, for example with depression, anxiety or traumatic experiences and memories.
I have offered talking therapies to people from a wide variety of backgrounds in Clinical Psychology Departments over the last 10 years and have specialised in Adult Mental Health. I am fully registered as a Clinical Psychologist with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a Chartered Member (CPsychol) and Associate Fellow (AFBPsS) of the British Psychological Society (BPS). I continue to work within the NHS as a Principal Clinical Psychologist and am a registered member of the Black, African and Asian Therapy Network (BAATN). I am also a Registered (EuroPsy) Clinical Psychologist with the European Federation of Psychologists' Associations. I firmly believe that therapeutic change is only possible within a non-judgemental and supportive environment.
I offer a free 20-minute phone/video call to answer any questions and discuss the possibility of working together.
