About me

You have taken the first step by looking for a counsellor, I understand how difficult this can be and I would like to help you move forward in your life. I offer a warm, supportive, compassionate and confidential space to allow you to be open and talk things through. This will help you reflect and process.

During your first session, we will discuss your goals and aims for counselling, and I will ask you a little bit about you. We will also complete a confidentiality contract.

The most important aspect of this is that you feel comfortable, and we begin to get a clear sense of what is causing you difficulty. I am happy to have an informal chat with you about how therapy works or if you prefer you can drop me an e-mail. At the moment, I am happy to provide Zoom or telephone sessions.

During our sessions, we will work collaboratively to work towards your goals and aims.

I'm primarily trained as a CBT therapist but I often draw upon different ways of working to help people. Working with you to explore your emotions, thoughts, and behaviours to help you understand the difficulties you’ve been facing and make lasting changes to your life. I like to work in a compassion focused way. We live in an increasingly uncertain and challenging world. Therapy needs to be personalised utilising techniques from different therapeutic orientations, there is no one size fits all. Together we find what works best for you.

I work in an honest and respectful way. I can offer you time in a non-pressurised comfortable space to help work through your difficulties and turn this into resilience and growth. With curiosity and never judgement.

Training, qualifications & experience

Having worked in the field of mental health for 15 years I bring a broad range of experience to my counselling. I have worked as a counsellor within a trauma service and schools over the past year, as well as worked with psychological services within the NHS for over 2.5 years. Pg. Diploma in CBT & Groupwork.
