About me

Hello, I'm Luisa, a clinical psychologist with significant experience and expertise in psychotherapy and consultancy. I integrate psychodynamic, trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+, and feminist approaches in my practice. Over the past decade, I have worked with individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and conditions in Bogota, New York, and London, gaining valuable insights from diverse settings including psychiatric hospitals, after-school programmes, psychosocial trauma, gender-based violence, immigration-related emotional reactions, and more. These experiences have provided valuable insights and honed my skills in working with various mental conditions in contexts of violence.

I understand that taking the first step towards therapy can be overwhelming and vulnerable, but it marks the beginning of a transformative journey, and I am here to guide you through this process too.

To begin, simply reach out to me by phone or email, and we will schedule a free-of-charge and non-committal brief initial consultation. During this session, we will discuss your inquiries, expectations, and any concerns you may have. Together, we will explore the most suitable therapeutic approach to support your healing process and personal growth.

My passion lies in working collaboratively with my clients, providing a safe space where you can openly explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. With my extensive clinical skills, I aim to facilitate a comprehensive understanding of your experiences and the wider context in which you navigate your daily life.

In addition to my clinical work, I hold an academic career and am a PhD candidate in Health Humanities. My research focuses on the psychosocial and philosophical intersections between health and the arts. This interdisciplinary perspective enriches my approach to therapy and allows for a deeper exploration of your well-being.

Whether you are seeking long-term or short-term online individual therapy, we will discuss the most suitable approach during our first session. Together, we will embark on a journey of growth and self-discovery, empowering you to make positive changes and embrace new beginnings.

My clients often describe me as trustworthy, forward-thinking, understanding, and insightful, and I look forward to working with you on your path to healing and personal development.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Clinical Psychologist, certified in both Colombia and the UK. In the UK, I am registered with the HCPC (Health Care and Professional Council) and hold membership with the BPS (British Psychological Society). Adhering to their ethical and legal guidelines, these registrations ensure that I conduct my work with the highest clinical safety standards.

To maintain my professional competence, I regularly engage in personal psychotherapy and receive supervision, while also undertaking Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as needed.

My academic qualifications include a BSc in Psychology, specialised in Clinical Psychology, an MSc in Psychoanalytic Studies, and I am currently a PhD candidate in Health/Medical Humanities. These academic pursuits enhance my understanding of the complex interactions between health, society, and culture, enriching my practice as a Clinical Psychologist.
