About me

Have you been finding things difficult lately? Do you need support from someone who can help you work through things?

Hello, I’m Louise, I am an NCPS, MBACP registered professional Counsellor, IPTUK accredited Interpersonal Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor, with over 10 years Therapeutic experience.

I have many years of experience working with Adults, Adolescents, Children and Young people, experiencing a range of difficulties such as depression, anxiety disorders, anger management, bereavement, loss, relationship difficulties, Long term health conditions, family issues, life transitions, low self-esteem, confidence, stress, and those struggling with maladaptive recurring life patterns or lack of direction in life.

I have a great passion for helping others, so if you are having difficulties within your life, or experiencing emotional pain and just can’t seem to overcome them no matter what you do. I am here to work alongside you to explore your barriers, where I am able to support you to make sense of your feelings, thoughts, behaviours and patterns within a safe, warm, non judgemental and confidential space.

How can I help you?
I provide a down to earth approach within an empathic, safe, supportive, non-judgemental and confidential environment to explore  what may be troubling you, with the potential to develop and grow. We will work at your pace, and I will change and adapt our approach as appropriate. There is no ‘one size fits all’ to my practice because we are all unique and require different things to flourish. You will gain valuable skills and tools throughout our work together, which will help you long into the future.

Experiencing difficulties is inevitable and a natural part of life, with each of us responding in our own individual way. Through counselling and taking time to focus on you, you will have the space to explore, gain awareness, understand yourself better, as well as learning new skills to help you manage or overcome things that once felt impossible.

You may find it challenging to be honest with Family and Friends about the difficulties you are experiencing, this is where accessing support can be so beneficial, by offering a space to be seen, heard and understood, enabling you to work through your difficulties with someone from an objective stance.

My diverse client work and training over many years has enabled me to become neurodivergent aware and trauma Informed in my practice.

I know it can be difficult to take that first step in reaching out and starting therapy, this is natural and understandable, but you can do it and will thank yourself that you did.

My current private work will be based online via video or telephone. I may offer face to face or walk and talk therapy depending on availability. If any of them are specifically requested, please state on your initial email.

Finding the right therapist for you is important and it is vital you make the right decision. If you would like to contact me then please do get in touch with any questions about the therapy. Take care and I will hopefully meet with you soon.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
