About me

Do you feel unheard? Maybe you’re experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression. Perhaps you are living with past or present trauma, bereavement or suffering symptoms of PTSD.

Reaching out for counselling can be hard especially when you are feeling low. My role as your therapist is to really listen and perhaps I am the only person you have opened up to.  Perhaps this is your moment to explore your concerns.  I have experienced the significant and positive changes that can occur when people take that first step.

At my practice you can expect a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space with which to share whatever you are experiencing.   Together we can explore your world at your pace.

I am a creative counsellor and I practice humanistic integrative counselling. I am also a registered member of the BACP, British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and I am ICO (information commissioner’s office) registered. I hold an up-to-date DBS certificate.

I use Gestalt and Existential models within a person-centred approach (happy to explain what this means if you want to understand this a bit more) and sometimes I may introduce creative skills to help us identify core emotions personal values/motivations and ideas.

My Experience

I have gained considerable and valuable experience, counselling people living with terminal illness and coping with bereavement and loss. I have seen first-hand the many levels of trauma often caused by these big life events. Alongside this I have worked for a well-known charity supporting unpaid carers age 16 and over.

I am currently working with Wellbeing in the Arts giving low-cost counselling to people struggling with mental ill health in the creative industries and who are trying to make their way in some very challenging environments.  Alongside this I am a therapist on the Betterhelp platform helping a variety of clients all around the EU, who feel they would like to reach out for counselling.  I also run my private practice here in Tunbridge Wells where I can provide counselling in person or online or by telephone.

I am forever learning about people who inspire me everyday.

I keep my knowledge up to date to provide the best service to my clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
