About me

Hello my name is Lisa and I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor, offering online and phone counselling plus face-to-face sessions in Denmead and Southsea.

Life can be really hard sometimes and it's not always easy to reach out for help - even the search for a therapist can be overwhelming. I can offer you a supportive and confidential space where together we can explore what is going on for you.  I aim to meet you wherever you are in your journey and by providing a warm, non-judgemental, compassionate approach.

I hope you can feel able to talk openly about what is troubling you and from there, start to make positive changes in your life.

Sometimes we all struggle and feel anxious or depressed and sometimes we just need someone to talk to. Counselling can provide you with that place to talk as well as helping you to find a way forward so please don't be afraid to get in touch. I am very approachable and will always aim to respond to you as soon as I can. I work in a safe, trauma-informed way and provide a welcoming space for all clients. I work with the LGBTQIA+ community and embrace difference and diversity in my practice.

I work with the belief that you are the expert on yourself and therefore I respect your thoughts and feelings. Everything you experience is valid and I will not judge you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
