About me

With an extensive background of working in mental health I have worked with issues such as depression and anxiety, and personality disorders, mood disorders, trauma, and abuse. Ive worked with those who have had circumstantial problems such as loss, relationship issues/breakdowns, to long standing histories of abuse, adverse childhood experiences, isolation and complex mental health needs. No issue is too much or too overwhelming, as I believe with the right support, patience and care, we can both find the solution and the unravelling of the meaning of the problem to know how to take one step forward.

Training, qualifications & experience

Masters in Psychotherapy and Bachelors in Psychology

I have a background in both Person Centred and Integrated Therapy. My approach is always tailored to the individual, working with an underpinning that you have the answers within you and I am the tool to bring that to the surface. Tailored in CBT, Gestalt, Psychodynamic and more, the counsellor/client relationship must be built on trust and shared goals.

If you would like to get in touch for a free consultation I am more than happy for you to understand further of my professional background and how you feel in contact with me. It is important for counselling to work you feel safe and heard so I am more than happy to see if I am the right fit for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
