About me

Are you seeking a safe and supportive space to navigate life's challenges? Look no further. I am a dedicated and empathetic counsellor with a passion for helping individuals like you achieve their fullest potential. I have a strong background in psychology and counselling, and I have completed over 7 years of study in this field. I hold an accredited degree in integrative counselling and have over two years experience as a volunteer counsellor with the NHS in a GP setting. I have seen a variety of clients of different backgrounds, and presenting issues. Counselling isn’t just a profession to me, being in a helping role and seeing moments of awareness and change in my clients is the most rewarding and touching feeling.

My personal way of working is founded in person centred approach- I believe you are the expert in your life and experience, and by taking the time to focus on you and truly understand you, you will be offered a genuinely warm, safe and non-judgmental environment which will feel strong and allow me to really see you, and for you to see yourself. From my experience and studies, I am also a strong believer in psychodynamic work and how what has happened in our past in some way links to what is going on for you currently and that we follow relational, emotional, and behavioural patterns that we learned to support ourselves at one point in our life that we still may be taking forward even if this no longer serves us . I will take opportunities for us to explore these links which can offer you clarity, awareness, and a deeper understanding of what is going on for you. I love the phrase ‘awareness is power’, as once we are able to get in touch with and uncover where we are, we can’t unsee it. We then have the power that we may have felt we have lost to be able to work through and make profound changes in our lives. I am experienced in helping individuals manage anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, and relationship issues.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
