About me
My name is Kayleigh and I help to empower people who are struggling with low self-esteem and confidence.
The way you feel about yourself impacts every aspect of your life which can cause a barrier to reaching your full potential.
If you're feeling anxious, depressed, lonely, stressed or overwhelmed, it doesn't have to stay that way. I am an integrative, trauma-informed therapist and I work hard to build a relationship so you feel comfortable talking about your experiences.
I use a well-thought-through model to build your self-esteem, giving you the resilience to handle life's stresses without significantly affecting your mental health.
There are many things that can impact the way you view yourself, including childhood trauma, abusive relationships, work conflicts, and so much more.
Together, we will explore your past and present feelings in order to process them and move forward with a better understanding of yourself. Building your self-awareness can lead to clarity and more informed decisions in your day-to-day life. This can provide relief from anxiety, depression and intrusive thoughts, creating a more content and peaceful thought process.
I provide face-to-face sessions from my garden therapy room, as well as online.
Counselling can feel daunting at first, which is why I offer a free no-obligation 15-minute consultation. Please click the button or email me to book an intro call. You can use this time how you wish. It's a great opportunity for us to get to know each other, explore what's going on for you and if you feel happy to work with me.
I work with adults over 18 years and offer both short-term and open-ended counselling.
Training, qualifications & experience
- Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling

- Level 2 Certificate in Counselling
Professional Development
I continue to participate in regular training and workshops, which have recently included certificates in the following:
- Understanding Trauma (Centre for Healing)
- Trauma-Informed Interventions for Therapists (Counselling Tutor)
- Using IFS to Heal Traumatic Wounds (PESI UK)
- Understanding and Managing Loneliness (Counselling Tutor)
- Understanding Personality Disorder (NHS)
- Exploring Suicide Risk (BACP)
I have experience working with people from all different backgrounds involved with the criminal justice system. I have also volunteered at a Women’s Support Centre. Here I supported women who experienced various traumas and abuse throughout their lives. Witnessing people’s growth in confidence and improvement in their mental health gave me a true passion for helping people.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), using their ethical framework to ensure we work safely together and stay focused on your goals.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Having spent 15 years working in Learning & Development, I became fascinated with 'what makes us tick', and how each of our unique experiences shape our thoughts and behaviours in different ways. This is one of the reasons I came across counselling and became passionate about helping people process their emotions and work towards healing.
