About me

Are you feeling anxious, low in mood, overwhelmed, stressed, or stuck in a pattern that's holding you back? Are you looking for a supportive environment where you can freely express your thoughts and emotions? If that's the case, I'm here to help you on your journey towards healing.

During our counselling sessions, you can expect a compassionate and non-judgmental environment where you can freely express your feelings, thoughts, and concerns. Together, we will explore the challenges you are facing, gain valuable insights, and develop practical strategies to navigate through them successfully.

You may wonder, "How will counselling make a difference in my life?" Through our sessions, you will gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your emotions, and your relationships, allowing you to make meaningful, positive changes. You will learn valuable coping skills, build resilience, and develop a greater sense of self-awareness and self-compassion.

Ultimately, as a result of attending therapy, you will experience a sense of relief, empowerment, and renewed hope. You will develop a clearer perspective, enhanced emotional well-being, and a greater capacity to navigate life's challenges with confidence. Together, we will work toward restoring your inner peace and helping you feel better equipped to embrace life with a sense of purpose and fulfillment.

I am here to support you every step of the way, and I look forward to embarking on this transformative journey with you. You are not alone – I've faced more than my fair share of hardships from a young age, but I would never wish to change that. These challenges have shaped me into someone who is resilient, strong, independent, compassionate, and empathetic.

As life's responsibilities grew, I found less time to prioritise my own well-being. However, meeting my counsellor was a turning point. I left the sessions feeling like I was talking to a friend, someone who listens without judgment or pressure to fix things their way. It gave me the space I needed to untangle the thoughts in my head and find my own path forward.

That's the space I offer to you – a safe, non-judgmental environment where you can be your authentic self. I'll help you understand your feelings and thoughts, and together, we'll work through your challenges so that you can find your own solutions. Whatever you're going through, I'm here to support you every step of the way.

As I work from home, my hours can be flexible to accommodate the busyness of life, making it easier for clients to find a time that suits them. My therapy room at home offers a warm, inviting, and personalised environment that can significantly enhance the therapeutic experience. Unlike a sterile, clinical rented room, my home-based setting feels more comfortable and less intimidating, fostering a sense of safety and trust. This intimate atmosphere encourages open communication and deeper emotional connections, allowing clients to feel at ease as they explore their thoughts and feelings. Additionally, my therapy room is tailored with personal touches and calming decor, creating a space that promotes relaxation and mindfulness, ultimately leading to a more effective therapeutic journey.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have over 10 years experience working with individuals and families with a wide range of difficulties (mental health/carers/school attendance issues, anxiety, domestic abuse, low self-esteem, low mood, extreme worries, stress, anger, emotional abuse), with a person centred approach.

Qualifications, I first studied a foundation degree as a Person Centred Counsellor, I have since added to this, earning a Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Mental Health, and a training certificate in Solution Focused brief therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
