About me

I work both online and face to face (Stockbridge, Edinburgh).

I am an experienced counsellor and I work integratively and intuitively. My practice is underpinned in Person Centred theory and influenced by the Psychodynamic approach. I am sensitive to the individual needs and capacity of each client and keen to challenge where appropriate.

Whether it is online or face to face, I offer a space where clients can share their worries, traumas and life challenges - there are very rarely any surprises in this work as I have long and broad experience and am open and sensitive to anything clients wish to bring. Whatever your reason, considering or seeking help is the first and perhaps the most difficult step. I offer 1:1 therapy for individuals in a caring, non-judgemental and confidential space.

There are many problems clients may wish to bring from depression, generalised anxiety disorder, phobias, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, stress, loss or bereavement, trauma, sexuality, family issues, feeling sad, personality disorders, childhood issues, panic attacks, relational issues or just a general sense of being stuck or feeling you have events or issues you would like to explore. You may have experienced trauma or a traumatic event or perhaps you are going through a change or loss and are struggling to cope.

If this is your first experience of counselling it may be helpful to have an idea of what to expect.  At the first session I will guide you through a little bit of admin that covers items like confidentiality and I’ll explain how I work to give an understanding of the process. This meeting is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have and to talk about your reasons for coming into therapy if you feel comfortable enough to make a start. I will follow wherever you wish to go and however you wish to use the time.

At the end of the first session you’ll hopefully have a clearer idea of whether therapy is for you. You can then make a booking for the next session or take time out to think it through. I offer a reduced fee of £25 for this initial meeting and £50 thereafter.

Clients are encouraged to come along on a weekly basis to keep continuity and connection to help build a strong, therapeutic relationship.

My practice is both face to face and online (Stockbridge, Edinburgh).
