About me
I have been qualified, and worked as a counsellor, for 26 years now. I have worked with many different types of issues, including depression, anxiety, addiction, panic attacks, confidence building, bereavement, loss if motivation and direction, bullying, decision making, sexual problems, marriage guidance, domestic abuse, PTSD, childhood trauma, and more.
No problem is too big or too small.
I take pride in my work and feel honoured to share people's journey and be witness to the changes they make over the years I have been privileged to work with people who seem to appreciate my contribution to the changes that they make in their lives.
Counselling is my passion. I endeavour to aim towards a positive result with each and every person that comes my way. I do not expect anyone to make a decision to book a session with me, until I have answered any questions they may have. I do not expect people to book block sessions, and I leave the decision with the client, as to if and when they might like a follow up session.
The number if sessions will be entirely up to them. I aim to work quickly, and respectfully, without prolonging the number of sessions, although some people may choose to work more slowly. I offer face to face counselling, (pending the travelling distance) either in their own home or mine; audio/video WhatsApp counselling; telephone counselling; walk and talk counselling. I offer one hour sessions, or 30 minute sessions, on a time and day to suit the person.
I work daytimes, evening, and if necessary, weekends.
Training, qualifications & experience
I studied counselling, supervising, and psychotherapy, at Salford college. I qualified as a counsellor in 1997. Since then I have worked in a domestic violence unit, probation unit, schools, and prisons. I have had my own private practise since 2005. I also supervise students and qualified counsellors.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

£20.00 - £50.00
Additional information
My fees differ according to how the counselling is arranged. I charge 20.00 for a 30 min audio session, 35.00 for a one hr session. These charges are for an individual customer. The price goes up for couple counselling, and for face to face, or walk and talk counselling.
