About me

After a successful professional career for 12+ years, I made the decision to move into the wellbeing field as this is where my passion lies.

From my own experience of personal therapy, I understand the courage it takes to reach out for support. I'm able to offer you warmth, commitment, acceptance and a confidential space to support you in your journey towards better understanding yourself and your situation. I'm here to walk alongside you, sharing the load of whatever you are carrying so that you do not feel so alone.

My core belief is that no one knows you better than yourself and that our individual experiences are unique, my focus will be on you and your needs. I am a qualified Counsellor and member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). As an Integrative Counsellor I am able to pull on different counselling theories to suit your individual needs. Hopefully, together, we can seek to make sense of your world and experiences, helping you find your own solutions to bring about the changes you desire.

I work with a wide range of psychological difficulties including anxiety and stress, abuse, family issues, grief and loss, identity, lack of self-confidence, life changes, low mood, low self-esteem, panic attacks, relationship breakdowns.

Whatever your circumstances or difficulties, my aim is to offer you professional counselling with sensitivity and without judgement.

Therapy has the capacity for change, it provides the conditions which can enable greater well-being, functioning and meaning in your life. The relationship between counsellor and client is unique and is often where these changes begin. Finding a counsellor that you can relate to, and feel heard by, is fundamental and will enable you to get the most out of therapy. With this in mind, I offer an initial telephone conversation free of charge. After this if we feel that we are an appropriate therapeutic match and you would like to start therapy we will arrange our first session, this is a full-length session (50 minutes) and provides an opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of what has brought you to counselling, what you want to work on and it’s where we can explore together how this could be achieved.

I provide both short term and long term counselling. My fees are £55 per 50 minute session in person and £45 per 50 minute session online (via Zoom)

*I currently only have space to take on new online clients*

Please feel free to contact me to make an appointment or with your enquiry. I aim to respond to new client enquiries within 48 hours.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
